Socrative AI helps teachers save time and gain clearer insights, while keeping educators fully in control. This article gives a high-level overview of where AI appears in Socrative, what each feature does, and where to learn more!

Our Approach to AI in Socrative

When adding AI to Socrative, our focus is on supporting teaching and learning in thoughtful, responsible ways.

  • Pedagogy comes first. AI features are designed to support effective instruction and assessment, not to add technology for its own sake.

  • AI enhances, not replaces, educators. Our goal is to build human-centred tools that help teachers save time, gain insight, and engage students more deeply, while keeping educators firmly in control.

  • Simple, accessible tools for everyone. We aim to create AI features that are easy to use and support equitable learning experiences for all students.

  • Privacy, safety, and security are foundational. Socrative’s AI features are built with strong data protection practices and use GDPR-compliant sub-processors that meet industry-recognized security standards.

We continue to monitor evolving AI regulations across regions to ensure that Socrative’s AI features remain safe, compliant, and appropriate for classroom use.

What Socrative AI Helps You Do

Socrative AI is designed to support teachers before, during, and after assessments.

  • Create questions faster by generating quiz questions from a topic, standard, or prompt.

  • Understand student results more easily by turning raw quiz data into clear insights and trends.

  • Plan next steps by identifying common misconceptions and areas for reteaching.

AI features are optional and always require teacher review before anything is shared with students.

What Socrative AI Does Not Do

Socrative AI is intentionally limited to protect privacy and maintain teacher control.

  • It does not access or store personally identifiable student data. Student names, emails, and IDs are never sent to the AI service.

  • It does not automatically publish content to students. Teachers must review and save all AI-generated content.

  • It does not replace teacher judgement. AI suggestions should always be reviewed for accuracy and classroom appropriateness.

Limits and Availability

Socrative AI is available to teachers and operates within defined usage limits to ensure reliability and fair access.

  • Usage limits apply to AI features. Socrative caps the number of AI requests a teacher can make per week for features such as AI Question Generation and Results Insights. If you reach the limit, it automatically resets for the next week (on Sundays at 3AM [UTC] for EU and 3AM [EST/UTC-5] for US).

  • Language support is strongest in English. Socrative AI works best in English. Other languages may be supported, but results can vary.

  • Reaching an AI limit does not block Socrative use. If you hit a weekly AI usage limit, you can continue using Socrative normally and return to AI features once the limit resets.

  • Availability may vary by plan. Access to Socrative AI features can differ depending on your subscription plan, such as Free, Essentials, Pro, or Organization, and as features are introduced or expanded. Please take a look at our Plans page to decide which is right for you.

  • AI features are optional. You can fully use Socrative’s core functionality, including quiz creation, live activities, grading, and reporting, without using any AI features.

If you reach a usage limit, you can continue using Socrative normally and try AI features again once the limit resets.
