Writing Effective Prompts for AI-Assisted Question Generation
To get the best results from the AI-assisted question generation in Assessments, it’s important that you write clear and focused prompts. Here are a few helpful tips:
1. Be Specific: Clearly define your quiz's topic or subject area. The more specific your prompt, the more targeted and relevant your questions will be.
For example, instead of saying "Math questions," specify "Algebra questions on linear equations."
2. Use Standards or Educational Objectives: If you aim to assess particular learning objectives or skills, include them in your prompt.
For example, "Develop questions that test analytical skills in Shakespeare's plays" or define the standard "common core standard 1.0 AB 3."
3. Include Difficulty Level: If you want questions tailored to a specific difficulty level, mention it in your prompt.
For example, "Create beginner-level questions about photosynthesis."
4. Include a theme or use a real-world example to create engaging questions: Giving Socrative AI more insight into your questioning style is beneficial. You can add a question you wrote and request the AI to use the same style.
Here's an example of a concise prompt that gives AI a framework for generating relevant and engaging questions:
"Create a moderately difficult quiz for students in an 8th-grade British
Literature class studying Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. Include questions on theme, character development, and literary devices. The students are 12-13 years old."
By following these guidelines, you will leverage our AI integration to create customized, effective, and engaging quizzes that cater to your students' unique learning needs!
Generate a Question from a Reference Content
Let AI create questions based on reference content, knowledge, or an excerpt/passage you provide. Here's an example prompt that references an excerpt from Romeo & Juliet:
"Create a moderately difficult quiz for 12-13-year-old students in an 8th grade British Literature class studying Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. Base questions on:
O Romeo, Romeo! wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father, and refuse thy name; Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, And I’ll no longer be a Capulet."
