Purchase Pro to take quizzing and assessment to the next level

You can upgrade your account to one of our paid plans by purchasing a subscription with one or more seats (individual plan memberships for teacher accounts), being assigned a paid seat another user's team, or entering a valid license key.

Upgrading to a Paid Plan

To upgrade your individual account or team, log in to Socrative through the Socrative Website or app and select Get Pro from the top navigation options. There, you will see more information about the plans offered and what is included in each plan.

You can also choose to Trial either the Essentials or Pro plans for 21 days before you purchase. If you have a promotional code, you can enter it when you enter your credit card information.

Alternatively, you can select your initials in the top right navigation header and select Profile from the dropdown menu. There, you will see an option to upgrade your plan.

  • Select the option to Upgrade or Renew to view our available plans.

  • Use the "Annually" or "Monthly" selectors to change the payment period (prices will adjust automatically to include or remove the savings available with our annual options).

  • If selecting our Pro Plan, choose the number of seats (upgraded teacher accounts) to purchase. Additional seats can be purchased later if needed.

  • If your account is eligible for a trial (with no previous subscriptions activated), you can choose Try for 21 days to start a trial. Payment will be automatically collected and your full subscription will activate 21 days after selecting this option.

  • Click Buy Now to start the full subscription immediately. Your subscription will be set to automatically renew at the end of the subscription period. This can be adjusted or cancelled later if needed.

To complete the upgrade, add a promotional code (if available), enter your payment information (credit card only) and click Subscribe. Your receipt will be automatically emailed to the email address you use to log in to Socrative, and your account will then be automatically upgraded.

Subscription Renewals

Plans will renew automatically in 1 year or 1 month, depending on the plan subscribed. You will receive renewal reminders 7 days before your renewal date.

If you use a coupon code, your plan will automatically renew at the original price on your renewal date.

What is a "Seat"?

Socrative subscription plans are purchased with a set number of "seats" (individual memberships that grant access to the paid features of the selected plan). These seats can then be assigned to teacher accounts that have joined your team to unlock the selected plan's paid features on their accounts.

  • "Per Seat" – refers to the number of teacher accounts that can have upgraded features (1 seat = 1 teacher account with paid plan features).

  • "Per Month" – refers to the monthly price of each seat.

Applying a License key to your Account

Group or school subscriptions purchased through our Sales Team (or a Socrative Account Manager) may come with a license key. Similar to paid seats on a subscription, license keys provide a set number of teacher accounts with the paid features of your selected plan.

A license key can be applied to a teacher account directly from within the settings of that account:

  • From within the account to be upgraded, navigate to the header menu and choose "Plans and Members."

  • On this page, select the "Enter License Key" option.

  • Once the license key is entered, the account will immediately upgrade to Pro and unlock the paid features of the purchased plan.

If this license key was assigned to a group or school subscription, it can be re-assigned to a different teacher account within your subscription period. For example, if you have a staff change partway through the year, a different teacher account can use a seat on the license.

For assistance with removing existing users from your license key, contact our support team. Once there are available seats on your license key, it can be applied to a teacher account using the steps above.
